“La isla”

As a boy I read “Cien Años de Soledad” I remember an exotic island, the mention of ice, the boy with an iguana tail, a magnet attracting hinges, screws, nails and pans. In another part of the book one of the characters loved reading so much that he died reading, it rained down flowers of many colors.
This is some of the highlights from the book I read as a child.
Cornelio Campos paintings include expressive narratives of his beloved hometown of Cheran, in the state of Michoacan in central Mexico, and of his immigrant experiences in the US. “ My paintings are inspired by the nostalgia I have for my hometown of Cheran, Mexico my family and the customs that I grew up with.. I also believe my paintings are a tool for sharing my indigenous/Spanish background and offering and teaching lessons for the people in the United States.
De niño leí “Cien Años de Soledad”. Recuerdo una isla exótica, la mención de hielo, el niño con una cola de iguana, un imán que atrae bisagras, tornillos, clavos y sartenes. En otra parte del libro uno de los personajes le encantaba leer tanto que murió leyendo, llovió flores de muchos colores.
Estos son algunos de los aspectos más destacados del libro que leí cuando era niño.
