Aureliano Buendia one of the main characters of Garcia Marquez’s novel “One hundred years of solitude”.
He’s a shy guy who loved to do fish in gold, jewels for his entertainment.
An order from the central government to paint all the houses blue in his town, will start a war. He became involved by doing the contrary of what the government wants: painting his own house in red. His mind is filled with monsters by participating in the war.

Él es un tipo tímido que le encantaba hacer pescado en oro, joyas para su entretenimiento.
Una orden del gobierno central para pintar todas las casas azules en su ciudad, comenzará una guerra. Se involucró haciendo lo contrario de lo que el gobierno quiere: pintar su propia casa en rojo. Su mente está llena de monstruos al participar en la guerra.

Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg and Gabriel Garcia Marquez and his Magic Realism. She gave the name to the city where I live and I mixed her imagery with his on the novel: “One hundred years of solitude”.
Yellow flowers and butterflies, falling form nowhere; Ursula one of the main characters; Colombia‘s politicians liking the bank’s building for personal interest of the foreign business. The queen’s crown has the highest buildings of this city, plenty of trees and the symbols of gold mining.
La reina Charlotte de Mecklenburg y Gabriel García Márquez y su realismo mágico. Ella dio el nombre a la ciudad donde vivo y mezclé sus imágenes con las suyas en la novela: “Cien años de soledad”.
Flores amarillas y mariposas, que caen de la nada; Ursula uno de los personajes principales; A los políticos de Colombia les gusta el edificio del banco por el interés personal de los negocios extranjeros. La corona de la reina tiene los edificios más altos de esta ciudad, un montón de árboles y los símbolos de la minería de oro.
About Luis: Luis Ardila was born in Bogota, Colombia and is a US citizen. Since his childhood, he has spent his life traveling between the USA, Europe, and Latin America. He has a Master in Fine Arts degree from the National University of Colombia. He studied architecture for 4 years at the National University of Colombia and Javeriana University.
Now he is a full-time painter living in Charlotte, NC. His work has an expressionist-symbolist style rooted by the influence of Latin American painters of the 60's, and also by the Medieval European iconography. His work has been presented in more than 100 group shows, 34 solo shows and has won 42 awards throughout the USA, Europe and Latin America. Currently he is doing a residency with LACA (Latin American Contemporary Art) Projects Gallery in Charlotte, NC.
Sobre Luis: Luis nació en Bogotá, Colombia y es ciudadano estadounidense. Desde su niñez, ha pasado su vida viajando entre los Estados Unidos, Europa y América Latina. Tiene un Master en Bellas Artes de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Estudió arquitectura por 4 años en la Universidad Nacional de Colombia y en la Universidad Javeriana.
Ahora es un pintor de tiempo completo que vive en Charlotte, Carolina del Norte. Su obra tiene un estilo expresionista-simbolista arraigado por la influencia de los pintores latinoamericanos de los años 60, y también por la iconografía medieval europea. Su trabajo ha sido presentado en más de 100 exposiciones colectivas, 34 series individuales y ha ganado 42 premios en los Estados Unidos, Europa y América Latina. Actualmente realiza una residencia en la Galería de Proyectos LACA (Arte Contemporáneo Latinoamericano) en Charlotte, Carolina del Norte.
