Dos y La Llave | Two and Key is a small, intentional writers’ support collective for serious writers who want to grow.
– It’s not an open mic.
– It’s not a public event.
It’s a focused room for writers who don’t need an audience—only the work, support through the process, someone to listen, and the desire to grow.
In Puerto Rico and across the States, the jingle of keys is a familiar sound. It means someone is opening up… or shutting it down. Here, we lean into that sound as both ritual and symbol: we share until the keys jingle—until the one with the keys turns out the lights, secures the doors, and the night ends in an honest way.
But the key is more than a ring at the hip.
Key: also represents what literature can do when the room is quiet and the numbers don’t matter: it opens minds, hearts, and souls. This isn’t built to impress. It’s built to connect—and to sharpen the work.
We also say it with a wink—because we all know the truth: literary events don’t always draw big crowds. Sometimes it’s “just a few brave souls.” Or like we say: “llegan cuatro gatos.”
Two and Key may sound like even less than “cuatro gatos”—but in our world, “three is company.”
Depth doesn’t require a crowd.
When and where we meet.
- We meet six times per year (and possibly more), in different spaces. Some sessions may be virtual.
What to expect.
- Goal: learn and help each other grow.
- A safe, judgment-free space where we respect every writer’s journey.
- Come as you are—no dress code, no pressure, no need to impress.
- Real conversation over performance.
- A night measured by exchange, not attendance.
Who this is for.
- Published and unpublished writers who take the work seriously.
- Bilingual-friendly: writers working in Spanish, English, or both are welcome.
From time to time.
To support one another, we may also host book launches and public literary gatherings from time to time—separate from the writers’ collective—when the moment calls for opening the doors.

Dos y La Llave | Two and Key es un colectivo de apoyo para escritores—pequeño e intencional—para escritores serios que desean crecer.
– No es micrófono abierto.
– No es un evento para público general.
Es un espacio enfocado para escritores que no necesitan público—solo el trabajo, apoyo en el proceso, alguien que te escuche y las ganas de crecer.
En Puerto Rico y aquí en los Estados Unidos, el tintineo de las llaves es un sonido familiar. Nos dice que alguien está abriendo… o cerrando. Aquí lo abrazamos como ritual y como símbolo: compartimos hasta que suenen las llaves—hasta que la persona con las llaves apague las luces, asegure las puertas y la noche termine de forma honesta.
Pero la llave es más que un llavero en la cintura.
La Llave: también representa lo que la literatura puede provocar cuando la sala está tranquila y los números no mandan: abre la mente, el corazón y el alma. Esto no existe para impresionar. Existe para conectar—y para afinar el trabajo.
Y lo decimos con una sonrisa—porque todos sabemos la verdad: los eventos literarios no siempre llenan el lugar. A veces “llegan cuatro gatos.”
O como dicen en inglés: “just a few brave souls.”
Dos y La Llave puede sonar como menos que “cuatro gatos”—pero en nuestro mundo, “tres es compañía.”
La profundidad no necesita multitud.
Cuándo y dónde nos reunimos.
- Nos reunimos seis veces al año (y quizás más), en distintos espacios. Algunas sesiones pueden ser virtuales.
Qué puedes esperar.
- Meta: aprender y ayudarnos a crecer.
- Un espacio seguro y sin juicio, donde respetamos el camino de cada escritor.
- Ven como eres—sin código de vestimenta, sin presión, sin necesidad de impresionar.
- Conversación real por encima del performance.
- Una noche medida por el intercambio, no por la asistencia.
Para quién es.
- Escritores publicados y no publicados que se toman el oficio en serio.
- Bilingüe: bienvenidos escritores que trabajen en español, inglés, o ambos.
De vez en cuando.
Para apoyarnos mutuamente, también podríamos organizar presentaciones de libros y encuentros literarios abiertos al público—separados del colectivo—cuando el momento nos pida abrir las puertas.

Two and Key runs on trust. What’s shared in the collective stays in the collective. No recording, no photos, no screenshots. We do not borrow or recreate anyone’s work or ideas shared in the room. Writers control what they share and what feedback they want (none, light reflections, or full critique). This is a judgment-free space built for growth. If the code is broken, participation may be paused or ended to protect the group.
Dos y La Llave se sostiene en la confianza. Lo que se comparte en el colectivo se queda en el colectivo. No se permite grabar, tomar fotos ni hacer capturas de pantalla. No copiamos ni recreamos el trabajo o las ideas de nadie compartidas en la sala. Cada escritor decide qué comparte y qué tipo de comentarios desea (ninguno, impresiones breves o crítica completa). Este es un espacio sin juicio, creado para crecer. Si se rompe este código, la participación puede pausarse o terminarse para proteger al grupo.
